What you hand over just by opening the site
A guest session, and the technical details every website receives.
You do not fill in a form to use Minichat TV. A guest session is created so that a call has an identity to attach to, and that session is what lets the service tell one visitor from another.
Alongside it, the ordinary technical information arrives the way it does on any site: device type and operating system, browser type, device identifiers, mobile network information, and server log entries recording access times and system activity. Your approximate location is derived from your IP address. More precise location is only collected if you give your device permission for it.
What you type in, if you decide to register
Email, a username, a password, and whatever optional profile fields you fill.
Creating a real account adds an email address, a username, a display name and a password. Optional profile fields include an avatar, a short bio, a date of birth and gender. Optional means optional — leaving them blank does not stop the service working.
Anything you send to other people on the platform, and anything you send to us as a support request or a piece of feedback, is also information we hold.
What happens when you pay
A third-party payment provider handles the card. We do not store full card numbers.
Topping up a balance involves billing details and a transaction record. Payment processing is carried out by third-party providers, and full credit card numbers are not stored by us. What we hold is the record of the purchase, which is also what we need in order to answer a question about it later.
What other people can see, and what search engines can see
Anything you publish publicly can be indexed, and removal takes time to propagate.
Content you post publicly — a profile page, photos, videos, comments — is visible to other users and can be picked up by search engines. If you delete or change that content, the search results that mention it may take a while to catch up. That delay is outside our control, and it is worth knowing before you post something you might want gone in an hour.
A call itself is between you and the other person. Capturing another person without their agreement is against the community guidelines and can end an account.
Who else the information goes to
Service providers who need it to make the product work, and anyone the law requires.
Information is shared with the providers that operate parts of the service — payment processing, infrastructure, measurement — and only to the extent they need it to do that job. It can also be disclosed where there is a legal obligation to do so, or where it is necessary to look into abuse of the platform.
We do not sell your personal information.
How long it is kept
As long as there is a reason to keep it, then removed or anonymised.
When you delete your account, personal data is removed or anonymised within a reasonable period, except where something has to be retained for a legal, security or accounting reason. If an account is closed or access is terminated, some records may remain for those same reasons.
We deliberately do not print a number of days here. A figure on this page that disagreed with what actually happens would be worse than no figure, and retention periods differ depending on what the data is.
What you can ask for
A copy, a correction, or a deletion. One email does all three.
You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for an account and its data to be removed. Write to the address below. Include enough detail that we can identify the account — a request we cannot match to anything is a request we cannot act on.
Depending on where you live, local law may give you additional rights. Those apply whether or not they are listed here.
Under-18s
The service is for adults. We remove accounts we find belonging to minors.
Minichat TV is not for anyone under eighteen. We do not want their data and we do not knowingly collect it. If you believe a minor is using the platform, tell us and we will act on it — see child safety for how that works.
When this page changes
The reviewed date at the top moves, and the new version applies from then.
This policy will be updated as the service changes. The date at the top of the page tells you when it was last looked at. Continuing to use Minichat TV after a change means the updated version applies to you.
